If you go to see Pearl Harbor check out the scene where Doolittles Bombers are taking off from the deck of the Hornet. They make a big deal about the weight of the bombers and bringing the carrier into the wind. The Capt say's they are at full speed. One quick scene shows the carrrier and it lookis like the anchor chains are down and out at an angle.

I only saw the movie once and it was quick so I could be wrong but check it out.

Also the sneak attack was at about 0730 on a Sunday morning. As the planes are approaching the harbor they are buzzing over kids playing baseball games etc. How many baseball games are going on at that time of the morning.

I noticed in one of the trailers for the movie, that the Japanese aircraft carrier had an angled flight deck which wasn't developed until 1950 by the british. But I suppose that you can't just pick up a surplus carrier at your neighbours garage sale so my nit picking can be forgiven.

PH is a definite "suspension of disbelief" movie. As a military history nut and and aviation buff on top of that, it was really hard for me to sit through some parts of it.

Not to mention that Ben Affleck seems to have all the personality of a rutabaga

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty good movie, however I did notice the BB game. What were they thinking? Playing that early, the boys must have been really dedicated to the game.

I was listening to a talk radio show and a caller mentioned that during the big harbor bombing scene there are three ships shown on fire then in a later scene the same three ships are moored together untouched.

Another caller said that they took out turret machine guns out from the bomber to lighten them up, then the are seen sticking out of a turret in a fly by scene.

Now I have to see it again just to look for bloopers.

'Saving Private Ryan' was MUCH better. Based on what I've heard, I'll wait for the video......

Hey, your missing the point, It's entertainment. Hollywood tries to get the most bang for the buck. How many movies have we all seen that borrows scenes from other movies. It happens all the time. You dont really expect them to go for 100% accuracy, they'd loose money, and that is the bottom line

I saw it on Tuesday.. During one of the many interior ship evacuation scenes I saw a sound man from the film crew.. Other than that I am sure we can all point out some things after we see it a couple times.

All in all it was a good movie (kinda long though).

If you wsant a movie MUCH closer to reality, rent Tora, Tora, Tora. A good book is "At Dawn We Slept."
