Vehicle Registrations

I am just curious as to how many other states require you to pay yearly property taxes on vehicles. Here in Kansas we do, and it costs me about $300 every year to register my car and truck. Anyone else have to pay these ridiculus taxes every year??

No property taxes here in the Kaliforny, People's Republik of. But they stick it to us in registration fees. I have an '87 4x4, and my fee this year was somewhere around $75. But I can't remember exactly since I ended up getting personalized veteran plates for it. Then of course they stick it to us in smog laws and gas prices.

I know in GA you have to get a yearly tag which is based on the value of your car. I drove a worthless hunk of junk, so it was not too bad for me. Just be thankful you dont live in MA. It costs $2000 just to register a new car. It also costs $50-$75 for a 2 or 3 year DL.

Here in AZ you pay a percentage of the value of the vehicle every year for registration.
