1 killed as pickup hits party bus on I-5
    KOMO-TV STAFF

A 26-year-old Federal Way man was killed early Sunday when a pickup slammed into him as he was making repairs to a stalled bus on the shoulder of Interstate 5.

Several other people were injured in the crash - two of them critically, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Troopers responded to the crash scene, in the southbound lanes of I-5 near the Boeing Access Road, at about 2:30 a.m.

Investigators said a small Ford bus filled with party-goers had broken down along the shoulder of the freeway, and several of the passengers had exited the bus and were standing along the shoulder or trying to fix the bus.

Suddenly a red 2002 Ford pickup slammed into the bus and struck Scott A. Glover, 26, as he worked on the bus, killing him. A third vehicle, a 2001 Kia Sephia, then smashed into the pickup.

Glover was pronounced dead at the scene, and troopers said six other passengers who were outside the bus sustained minor injuries in the crash. They were treated at the scene.

The driver of the pickup, Hermilo L. Garcia, 39, of Anaheim, Calif., was critically injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries, trooper said.

The driver of the Kia, a 37-year-old Federal Way man, and his passenger, a 50-year-old Federal Way woman, both sustained serious injuries and were taken to Harborview.

The crash remains under investigation and vehicular homicide charges may be filed, said the Washington State Patrol.

Drugs or alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.

I'm so sorry, Tacticool. 23 years and a couple of months ago my grandfather was killed by a DUI. My prayers for your family's eventual recovery...may Justice be swift and sure.

My condolences for your loss Tacticool. My thoughts are with you and your family.

I lost someone I knew and cared for to an OWI on April 12th, 2005. I sent her an AIM instant message a few hours before she was struck as a passenger in front of her sorority.

                    Thank you for your prayers....

The guy ended up being an illegal (not that it makes a difference since Americans drive drunk to) I dont think he even had a licence or insurance either.... Front seat was littered with bottles.
He is still in critical condition himself.
