    Do police radar detectors work in rural areas?

    Hi,

    I'm sure I will receive many different responses, but my question is simple..

    Do police radar detectors work?

    If they do, to what extent?

    *if they don't, I'd like an explanation please*

    Sure they work

    SOMETIMES

                They generally give you an advance warning that you are about to get a citation.

                        Oddly enough, I don't need a radar to get your speed. Visual estimation is a thing. Radar is used to confirm visual estimations.

                          Why speed? its a game with radar and detectors, one you eventually lose if you play it long enough. I know a guy that always has the latest and greatest detector he can buy, still manages to get a couple citations a year.

                              Radars and lasers both work very well in rural areas. Isn't it easier to drive at the limit than pay a few hundred bucks for a speeding ticket and end up arriving later anyway?
