I'm curious to know what a fix-it ticket turns into now with no ref? A friend of mine today received an exhaust ticket. Could he put the stock exhaust back on and then get the citation signed off?

Smog modification/violation cites are not able to be signed off. They MUST be to a state referee for inspection and the back of the cites are covered with a sticker or written on to say that it cannot be signed off by an officer.



Don951..... did you do as the website said and call. This suspension of services is temporary and will resume when the state budget is finished. Hopefully you didnt wait until the last minute to have it inspected. If you did you could also contact the courts to request an extension due to the closing of the referee. As far as putting the exhaust back on....YES...as the current one was obviously illegal, but it will still need to go to the referee.
