Is the adolescent use of speed (10 times or less) a disqualifier in most agencies? The usage was approximately 5 years prior to application date. There was occasional marijuana use about 6 years prior to application date.

Your answers to 2 questions will help you get a better response on your initial inquiry from people here:
1.) When (in years and months ago) was your last usage;
2.) What other substances (Just meth but no pot???)

Believe it or not, I think a well-known city in Orange (CA) County will not automatically DQ tweak. Paperwork is in at work, give me until Monday night to confirm.

Most all felony drug use are a disqualifier depending on the department. Most departments that are accredited are a no go with felony drug use but I guess it depends on the pool of applicants you are competing with also. I know back in 93 when I was going through that nighmare of being a wanna be it was a no go. Nowadays Im not 100% on that issue. I think if you have done crystal meth or speed as many times as you indicated it would be irresponsible for a Police Department to offer you a job and a discredit to all of us who stayed away from felony drug use because we wanted to become career Law Enforcement. No offense."Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. The MARINES don't have that problem." ....Ronald Reagan
