    As a general rule, you will take only one polygraph exam in the course of any department's hiring process. There could be some very valid reasons why a second exam would be administered. I'm going to hope that one of our members who does polygraphs would see your post, and answer a little further.

    Affirm. There are certain questions they can only ask you on the poly AFTER they have offered you a conditional offer of employment. So it is a common practice to do one poly before they offer you a conditional offer of employment and one after where they can ask more pointed questions.

    usually it's one time.. some people get 2nd chances if some questions arise during the 1st poly.
