  • How many polys are given prior to hire?

someone mentioned being "polyed" more than once during the hiring process-is this common?

usually it's one time.. some people get 2nd chances if some questions arise during the 1st poly.

Affirm. There are certain questions they can only ask you on the poly AFTER they have offered you a conditional offer of employment. So it is a common practice to do one poly before they offer you a conditional offer of employment and one after where they can ask more pointed questions.
Now hold my hand and hold it tight,
I will not fail you here tonight,
For failing you, I fail myself,
And place my soul upon a shelf,
      In Hell's Library without light,
I will not fail you here tonight.

As a general rule, you will take only one polygraph exam in the course of any department's hiring process. There could be some very valid reasons why a second exam would be administered. I'm going to hope that one of our members who does polygraphs would see your post, and answer a little further.
