Similar experience. I took and passed mine this week. We went over my background, talked for a long time, then took the test. She showed me the deception graphs on the control questions, where you are asked to lie on a few questions. I was honest with everything else, and contrary to what a lot of people say, it appears to actually sort of work in detecting stress in your voice... I am very comfortable with my background investigator, so maybe that helped out.

i recently took a polygraph and a VSA the next day. The difference was huge. The VSA was very easy. Not much pressure, just say yes and no into a microphone. On mine they asked 30 questions, 15 were about me and 15 were about objects in the room. He asked them in alternating order.

    Example:
    1. Is my shirt white?
    2. Are you hideing anything in reguards to your drug use?
    3. Is the light on in this room?
    4. Did you come here with the intent to lie?

And so on.... Very smooth. We went over my background questionaire before hand. Good Luck!!
