Hi there im trying to get on with the cmpd i have some issues with my credit i have a judgement and some collections. which i had no control over my ex-wife helped me with that. now my ? is will the background person look at this or will they just DQ me for that. im trying to make payments to the collectors but would that count. or all this stuff will have to be paid off? any info

I am sure different departments handle credit situations different. But, I recently got hired full time and also got hired as a reserve with another department 5 months ago. Because of circumstances, I had to file bankruptcy 2 years ago. I explained the situation to both departments, and still got hired on by both departments.

So, I think if there are valid reasons, it shouldn't be a problem. IMO.

    Good luck!

Credit is definitely a concern with CMPD. I would be prepared to explain the situation and to provide whatever supporting documentation you can. On the positive side, there are a variety of reasons for credit issues, and it is likely not an instant disqualification, but you will likely have to do more than blame it on the ex wife. I would suggest you develop a track record of making regular payments to start addressing whatever problems might exist.Quite simply, "trying to make apymants" will probably not be enough, showing that you have recognized the issue and are taking concrete steps to resolve the problems is what it will take, and even that still is no guaranty.

Call and talk to a recruiter, and describe the situation. The worst thing that can happen is they will tell you to wait to apply while you resolve the credit issues.

how bad is your credit?? Have you made payments for a while and have proof of that?? THat is the big deal with credit. Its not bad to have debt...it's bad to have a poor payment history
