  • Polygraphy Questions

What is the most embarrassing question you were asked during the polygraph?
Did they ask you about your sex life? Personal habits?
    Thanks in advance.

The questions you will be asked during your polygraph will all depend on you. For example, if you

When I had a poly I had to fill out a 25 page booklet that asked any possible question that you could imagine. I had to send the book in two weeks before my test. When I got to the poly the detective went through the entire book with me. As we went through the book he'd ask questions like "If I were to ask you if you have ever sold drugs do you think that would be a fair question on the polygraph?" and it would become a question when I was hooked to the box.....its a huge mind game....
"Thats a pretty cool sidearm you got there....What is it?"
"I don't know what its called, I just know the sound it makes when it takes a mans life"

Gonefishin, What if you didn't want to answer that question and told the detective 'no'. I think I'd have to answer the guy something like this: "Uhh, I thought all questions are fair game..." So, are all questions fair game? Are there things they cannot ask?
They really ask about sex? Is that fair? And what does that have to do with the job? I work at a kindergarten and the most they did was fingerprint me (incidentally, I had 30 days after date of hire to complete that--am I the only one surprised by this?) If the pervs are anywhere, it would most likely be in a school or church or daycare setting. I would not think they'd be involved in LE....

A friend of mine is a police officer and he was asked on his Poly "Have you ever committed sodomy?" He answered "No." Then before the next question he paused and said, "Wait a minute, sodomy means having butt sex, right?" He said the guy nearly p*ssed himself from laughing. The guy says "Yes" and my friend said "Well in that case, yes, quite frequently, sir." After a few minutes they continued the test. My buddy said the polygrapher (is that the right term?) told him the was the funniest thing he was ever asked. He said he never quite got over that answer and still commented about it even later when they ran into each other in the hall. Just a funny story for yinz guys.

PBurghKid, that is truly hysterical!!! Did your friend get hired? Isn't sodomy technically illegal? If someone did not want to answer that question-or any question, (says so, and then actually refuses to answer) what happens?
