  • Question from a new applicant on my application

I am a new applicant and have a question on mine. I recently applied through Government Jobs to the Glendale Police Department in Arizona. On Government Jobs' website it says I passed Glendale's minimum qualifications and am on their eligible list. I have a friend too who applied and said he revived an email today. I did not. His last name starts with C and mine with a T. Do they go in some type of order? Or can I pass the minimum qualifications and still be rejected without any in person interaction with the department?

    Thanks for your help!

    You'd have to ask them.

Rather than post on an anonymous board, you should ask the agency concerned directly. (Glendale PD). I admit I'm not really familiar with "Government Jobs", but unless they are contracted to handle an entire hiring process, your source for "official" information would be the Personnel Dept of the City of Glendale, or the Police Department itself.

I know I'm not an officer and shouldnt reply, but I've applied to several jobs using that website. In my experience, the website will tell you the app was received, then the next status is usually "application under review." Sometimes you'll get the "meets minimum qualifications." Usually you'll receive an email from the department a few days later. The application or their website should list an email or phone number to use if you have questions. Also double check to make sure you submitted all the required supplemental documents.

Just to confirm, you are on the eligible list based solely on making an online application? You haven't taken the written or oral yet, correct?

Then, you are NOT on an Eligibility List or Register. You've merely applied to take the examination.
