3 weeks ago I applied for a U.S. Probation Officer position for U.S. Courts Georgia Middle District and was invited to complete a test. If you are a current or former U.S. Probation officer, I would greatly appreciate any valuable insight to help me prepare for the test and the interview.
I don't have any experience as a probation or parole officer which is probably extremely important for this position. My background is limited to the military, fire department/EMT, and U.S. Department of State high threat protection (I was a contractor in Iraq, not a federal employee). I have a B.S. in Criminal Justice, and M.S. in Management. What can I do to make myself more competitive for this position?
