  • what to wear to my psych test

    My psych test is tomorrow....

I've always worn a suit to all of the testing and interviews but this seems to be different. The department I'm testing for is sending me to an occupational center for all of my psych and medical testing (blood, UA etc....), the psychologist interview and the doctors physical is on a different day fyi.
I feel a suit and tie or even a button up and tie would be overkill.
    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    A thong...

    ...or khakis and a polo.

A suit and tie. Walk in with your penis hanging out of your zipper.

You can NEVER be overdressed at any part of a Law Enforcement hiring process UNLESS you have been given specific dress instructions.

            A suit won't hurt.

I did everything in a suite expect pt test. I did medical in a polo and slacks expect where they said show up in pt cloths. you always want to make a good impression. depending on the pysch if there is a written you can always take your jacket off do the test. when you sit down with the doc put the jacket on.
I'd rather be judged by 12 rather carried by 6.

It should be noted that any and all post that are made are based on my own thought and opinions. And are not related or implied to represent the department I work for.

Even though they will also be doing blood, BP, UA, body fat, and many other fun tests?

DO NOT wear the tin foil hat! It will interfere with the shrink's brain waves.

I have yet to have a physical where I was not told to disrobe in some fashion.
                      .

If you are wearing a suit..............................DUH! You take off the jacket, shirt , tie , slacks etc and then put them back on when you are through.

                      REALLY not rocket science.

Same with a psyche test or polygraph test. I am sure the examiner will provide a place for the suit jacket to be placed during any procedure that requires removal of the item.

Post #5 covers it. Always a suit unless specifically told otherwise. You never know who will be there watching.

Do you have regular contact with someone you can ask? I always instruct my applicants to wear casual clothing to the medical test (they dont see anyone from the hiring authority there, its a medical office) However, for the psych, they wear a suit & tie - it's an interview.

No worries now. For testing I wore a button up no tie and slacks. However interview day I wore a nice suit
