  • What does medical normally consist of?

Do they do a treadmill type stress test? I'm a good runner but I hate those type of tests.

It's not the treadmill you have to worry about!

Does squat and cough ring a bell?
This profession is not for people looking for positive reinforcement from the public. Very often it can be a thankless job and you can't desire accolades, because those are not usually forthcoming. Just do your job to the best of your ability and live with the decisions you've made.

Oh man I have enough trouble sleeping at night, now I have to worry about that! Although if I get to the point where I take the medical I'll be happier...

I had to do a stress test on a treadmill to get into the academy not a big deal.

Magistrate: "Do you have any other pending charges?"
Drunk: "Well there's this thing where the cops said I spit blood on them."
Me: "Wait a minute, that was me!"
Drunk: "Oh... now you like me even less."

Ours was pretty standard: BP, respirations, Hep B, TB, eye, hearing, breathing, and a tickle of the boys.

Mine was like a doctor's check up... they test your eye sight, reflexes, ears, nose, throat, etc.

Mine did not include a blood draw.

We had to do a hearing test. We also had to go and have our backs x-rayed to be sure we didn't have any pre-existing spinal problems.

The worst part is the bend over and cough...don't know why the opthamologist did it, but it sucked.
