If I passed every step in the MPDC process but...

I was wondering what my chances of hire are at this point, considering the following..

Passed written test
Passed BI
Was referred to final step: Medical and psychological and passed

Im thinking that if they referred me to the final step, the Medical and Psychological, which is expensive, then this would the final determinant. As such I passed and therefore, I should get hired!!!

Of course, this is the optimism in me. If I thought it was that simple I wouldn't be posting!

So, if there are any MPDC out there or any one as familiar with these matters, please holler. I want to know if you think my chances are good at this point and if there are any little, not so obvious administrative logistics I should be aware of that might or might not work against me at this point.

I think your chances are very good. I would be cautiously optimistic at this point however. I made it through the entire hiring process with the State Police in 2006 (including final interview) and was recommended for hire by the Director. For some reason too many people were recommended to the Commission and I didn't make the final list. Yes, it's expensive to run an applicant this far. And yes, it is a very good sign that you will be hired. Just don't be too beat up if it doesn't go your way. Stay on the horse and keep trying. Good luck, let me know how it turns out!

On the surface your chances are very good. You passed everything.
What can happen to knock you off the track? Things out of your control.
Budget problems, Not being high enough on the list. You are number 7 but we are hiring five.
Don't sweat the small stuff. Hopefully you will be picked and go through the academy and have a great career.

Thanks guys, sounds like I just need to be patient and leave it in God's hands. The waiting game is pretty grueling though! I'll definitely let yalls know how it turns out.
