hello im 20 years on and just had one question concerning my future as a LEO. When I was 18 I was stupid and at my place of employment (retail) i was arrested for petit larceny. Although i never "took" anything it was basically for discount abuse and over riding a price on an item the total was about $300 over a few months. I know it was bad and didn't realize the seriousness until after the fact. Well i got a lawyer (one of my professors sons)and was granted an ACD and given some community service. I finished everything and my probation of 6 months. I was just wondering how this will pan out in the end. If more clarification is needed let me know. Also was wondering if i should even bother taking tests if this will mess my career up.

Chances are, your arrest/case disposition was as an Adult. It's been recent, and, it's an integrity issue. It will have to be disclosed in any application(s) you submit, and judged in light of a given Department's standards. Is it a killer for all time? Probably not.

You didn't take property, however you took money from the store. Can I assume you were fired? Take a few more years to grow up, go to college, join the military, etc. As stated above, it is probably a short term (several years) killer instead of a lifelong killer.
