Finally got my interview!

I had my interview today for a spot in the academy. I dressed well, arrived on time, tried talking smoothly and correctly though I was nervous as well as answering their questions to the best of my ability. Some of my answers may not have been one hundred percent correct but I honestly gave it my best shot. This is all I want and I hope my best was good enough for them.
There interview seemed to go well (only about 35 mins) until the end when I was questioned about a grade I received in a class of an F...they seemed to almost laugh like I must have had a hard time in the class and just quit or something. I do not know what to think I hope a few bad grades won't ruin my chances because I truly have a passion for this career choice, it's in my blood and if granted a spot in the academy I will give all I have. I hope they were just trying to rattle me or something because I really do feel I am a good candidate especially when I see some people fail to take the prior test and interview opportunities not that seriously.

Not really a big question in all of that...just letting it out and trying to have someone who has been there and done that hear me out. Thanks guys!

I wouldn't stress over it to much. Unless it was a class that would have a direct relation to your possible performance in the academy. If you failed advanced calculus, I wouldn't sweat it. If you failed an easier course such as sociology, then I may worry a bit. Academics are a very important part of the academy so they are going to look at your grades pretty hard. But they do realized that mistakes happen. I wouldn't look like it as an auto DQ but more of its depending on your competition.

What is the story on that class.

Long story short. Please do not feel I am making excuses because this is just the truth.
I had a hard time beginning of college. Came home took THREE courses in summer school at a local community college. I failed the world religions course and passed the other 2 with a C and a A. I admit it was extremely hard for me to handle a part time job, family obligations (living with widowed mother 2 younger brothers) as well as take 3 full courses in a summer time slot. Again no excuses, now for future references I know I can not do that much in the summer and expect myself to excel in all courses.
Following that I went to back to my school, took a semester with 18 credit hours I believe but had to drop one due to a underlying heart surgery I had to under go which caused me to miss a lot of one particular computer class. i passed the rest of the courses with a C+. The next semester i took 20 credit hours including the course I dropped the previous semester and passed them all with an overall C+ average.
I know a C+ isn't amazing but I really did work my buns off. I know if I get to this academy I will take what ever they throw my way and excel. I have already set it up where I wouldn't have to work and all my time for that 6 months would be allotted to the Academy. This is what I want to do for the next 30 years, I will not fail that academy. I just hope the reaction about those courses doesn't ruin my spot and hopefully he was just trying to see if i would crack at his reaction.
