  • Do all applicants get to take the written?

Every person i know that has applied for some kind of LE job has been allowed to at least take the written; is it possible to turn in an application for a job with open spots and not be given a date to take a written test? What are the chances?

i did see the other post about the guy saying he took ecstasy and got that DQ from the start. Im talking more so of a normal application with nothing along those lines of hard drugs or felonies.

As long as you meet the min. requirments for that dept. you can take the test.

Is there something you are really worried about in your past?

As long as the written is administered to everyone and you meet the minimum requirements for the position, there is no reason to exclude you from the process. But the key is, you must meet the minimum requirements.

Bear in mind that the application and other paperwork you initially submit is part of the screening process to determine whether you meet those requirements. Usually they address things like age, education, drivers license, citizenship, etc. There are also automatic disqualifiers such as a felony conviction and use of certain drugs just to name a few. Sometimes certain DQ questions are asked at the initial application stage.

If you are lacking in any of the minimum requirements or meet a DQ area right off, you can expect to have your application rejected and not even be admitted to the testing process.
