    I came across this article and it struck me in a profound way, it was a good reminder that LE does recruit from the human race and we all can fall victim to being affected by what we experience.

    How do you deal with some of the horrific s**t you see?
    Do you think these officers approach and outreach to your community will be well received?

    These officers are suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), and should seek help. While some departments are still living in the 70's, most modern departments understand that stress is cumulative, and everyone reacts differently. In most departments, officers can get counseling in total privacy.
    Some officers, however, still see it as a sign of weakness, and resist getting help. They, and their families, will pay the price in the end.
