I worked part time for another city agency starting at 16. Cop at 22 years old. Somwhere along the line a law was passed that allowed me to purchase my previous city time and put it into my pension. So technically I have been in the pension system since 16. LOL.

There was a Royal Navy Admiral who’s father got him signed on as a cabin boy at birth…. Not actually serving but on the rolls…. So when he became a midshipman he already had 12 years of seniority. He refused to retire and died an admiral with something like 92 years of service.

31 years old when becoming a state trooper. Before that I was a C/O for 5 years for the state. I grew up in a family of firefighters. I did a couple seasons for the forest service and decided this wasn’t the career I wanted.
