  • shooting the .40 s&w mp

My husband took my 3913 and his sw .45 with him on his trip. There is an issue that has come up and all he said was the 40 is in the safe. Now I have never shot this gun, don't know how to use it, etc.... I'm keeping it on the fridge but will most likely just keep it there. Can anyone tell me about this gun? Is there a safety on it? I don't see anything. I appreciate your input. Thanks.

I would ask your husband if you can. I have never shot it but if you don't know how to operate the weapon, lock it up before you get yourself killed!

It's basically S&W's version of the glock. What kind of issue are you talking about?

The M&P40 is my issued duty weapon. It doesn't have a safety or exposed hammer, but other than that, the function is like the 3913. Rack the slide to chamber a round, pull the trigger to fire. The magazine release is in the same place and works the same way. The slide stop is smaller than the 3913, but it works the same way.

          Hope everything is all right.
