We should briefly state our general area so we can see if there is a "regional" trend so to speak. For me, Chicago-land area, and I ALWAYS carry. There is no such thing as a "pretty safe place" anywhere in the world. All it takes for your "safe place" to go to hell is one Yahoo off his rocker that is armed (knife, gun, etc.). Just cause your "place might be safe" doesn't mean there is a velvet rope that is keeping out a criminal or a nut job from entering that "safe place". Kinda like the reason I always wear my seat belt, YOU don't determine the time and place you are going to crash, most of the time someone else makes that "decison" for you.

It depends on where I'm going. Now, I know that one can never truly know what's going to happen everywhere, but I usually only carry a gun on me when I'm out of my comfort zone. Lately, and I'm not sure why, I've been carrying a little gun that I've nicknamed "my pocket pistol." I suppose I've carried because when I do have it I don't notice it. I usually have a pistol in my truck somewhere not that it would do me any good in a store, lol. If I were truly out of my comfort zone then I'd conceal my Glock 23, but that's rare. Usually I only have it when I'm out of town or at Walmart (I hate that place).

Actually when I was a new cop, I always carried. It was only after I had been on for a few years that I rarely carried off duty.

99.9% of the time...only 2 places I dont take it.

1. Gym, I live far away from where I work, slim chances of running into clients at my gym. I go to the gym, work out, go home...no stops.

2. Bar...if I go out with the boys or some guys I havnt seen in a while and I plan on having 3 or more beers...gun stays at home.

Other than that...it goes everywhere I go.

I always carry, wherever I go. I even take it with me to church, but I'll leave it in the car.
