Looks promising, but..........
1) Long term effects are unknown. I hope that "burning feeling" doesn't equate to cancer a few years down the road. Especially since the guinea pigs in this case are military and LE associated.

2) Can use of a reflector cause this "tool" to be used against the operators?

There are always unintended consequences. Approach "new" ideas/tools with an abundance of caution.
