For felony stops: prone out suspect on ground or kneel them down?

Searching/Handcuffing: Start with hands on top of head or behind back with palms together and fingers interlaced?

Here in L.A. or more specifically L.A.P.D. they prone out suspects and handcuff and search starting with hands on head.

It doesn't matter what agency you work for, all of this stuff is just dependant on the situation.

I mean most departments have a standardized policy or technique.

Almost never will you see an LAPD Officer kneel a suspect on a felony stop.
Just curious because when I attend the explorers competition next month, it will be graded by LVMPD. It would be easier on us if use the same techniques their academy teaches.

I would suggest contacting our department explorer program for those questions... To give out our tactics on a public forum isn't in anyone's best interest. Good luck with you competition....

it depends on the situation and all the circumstances of the stop as well as your discretion.

The answer: it depends. What it depends on? Sorry, not on an open forum.
