ok, this is king of a different question, but I lift weights and in the process of being hired for a local police department. ok, heres the question, I have heard that protein suppliments can make you feel drug tests and before i started to take some then possibly mess up my chances of getting into the agency, I wanted to ask and see if this was true or just BS? sorry for such a weird question, but I need to know!!

    thanks

Pro sports have banned some su bstances that can be found in certain supplements.

I wouldnt think the police drug screen is looking for those types of things. more marijuana, cocaine and the other illegal substances, steroids. my last drug test for the PD was 12 years ago. My last on in the military was 9 months ago. neither were looking for creatine.

If your really worried about it, ask someone or stop taking the stuff a month before you screen.

creatine is good stuff, just dont forget to drink a lot of water after you use it..

i'd recommend using both creatine and protein supplements.

Creatine is not a drug. It is not on any organization's banned substance list. It will not make you fail a drug test. Whoever you have previously getting your information from is an incompetent idiot. What is he, a trainer at 24 Hour Fitness?

Just an example of a supplement off the top of my head.

BTW Some team policys ban its use.

I dont use a trainer anymore. We had 3 or 4 when i was in college, but nothing was banned back then except the anabolics.

The prohormones were big back then and rather new.

If and when you get hired, you will have to submit to a full medical workup commonly referred to as the medical exam.
In that they WILL do a blood workup and ANY excess protein will show up but they will probably tell you to see your P.C.P, its not a disqualifier but could make you explain why there is excess protein. I believe that there needs to be an EXCESSSSSSSS amount to show up and it could be a sign or symptom of some illness. Im not a doctor but I did stay at a Holiday INn express last night
                  I got nothing for now
