    1. How old were you on your first day of the job?
-Joined USCG at age of 17.

    2. Have you ever dealt with MS-13? Was it intimidating?
-Negative, They may be hardcore and all, but as others said you need to be cautious all of the time.

    3. Describe a time when you most feared for your life on duty.
-Ive only had fun so far.

    4. If you saw a group of 10-30 people, all very peacful, on a street corner holding signs saying things like, "911 was an inside job", "Investigate 911", etc etc.. would you do anything at all? or would you drive on by?
-Drive by, look at them, smile and wave.

    2. yes, and no. The media loves gangs because they scare the average joe and gangs give them good ratings. 99% of all gang members are cowards when they are by themselves. You use alot CAUTION anytime you stop a group of knuckleheads, gang or no gang. Bullets from a non gang members gun will kill you just fast as bullets from the gun of a MS13.

    3. Anytime my partner is driving.

    4. Nowadays everybody has hand held camcorders or cell phone video cameras. If they are not breaking the law, you move on. If they are, get a supervisor and do your job.

    1) 25

2)yes, no. Deal with gangs often, eyes and ears wide open.

3)toss up. The guy who was trying to run me over, or the when a SWAT team through a flashbang into what was supposed to be an active meth lab.

4)If I had no call on it I may stop and talk to them or just drive on by.

    1. 21, which was way too young for ths job. It made me grow up way too fast. By the time I was 23, I was as mature as most people that are 30. I also made a few immature mistakes early on that could have cost me my career if I didn't have others standing behind me. I wouldn't advise anybody to start until at least 25.

    2. Dealt with MS-13 twice and Northside gang once, they tried to intimidate me but I just kept my guard up. One of the times, another officer and I were talking with five MS-13 members. As we were talking to them, they started moving around and trying to surround us. One of them was staring really hard at the other officer's gun. We let them know real quick that we were not playing with them. Alot of times, if you let somebody know that you're picking up on what they're thinking, it will put an end to it. Thank goodness it worked that time because it would have been a bad fight.

    3. The second time dealing with an MS-13 member, this time it was a lone one, he tried to pull a gun on me, but I had my guard up and didn't give him the chance to get it. It was loaded with a full magazine and had one in the chamber. When it was happening, it was like instinct kicked in. The fear was really just an afterthought and didn't hit until it was over. It was a real eye opener. It gave me alot more confidence in myself. Before I always thought that I could handle myself in a bad situation, but until something happens, you don't really know how you'll react no matter how much training and experience you have. This incident showed me that I could handle myself under that kind of stress.

    4. I'm very laid back. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. I might not like it, but that's their right. Unless they were causing problems, I don't have a problem with them.

I guess the only time was when I was shot at.

Not unless we had a complaint.

1: 18 when I entered the U.S. Coast Guard. 24 when I became a sworn agent with CGIS.

2:Yes, and as said before, I'm cautious, but not intimidated.

3: A call we received in which is was dealing with a suspected hostile instance. Only time we ever broke out the M16's and other gear we never really used.

4:I am going to stop, draw my service weapon and start firing...
