      I cant see anything illegal on SWIM's part. I would strongly suggest that SWIM takes the information to the local police so they can set up a meet. It is likely that this guy is also targeting another child (real Child!!). If she does not do this, she is no better than the child molester.

        Don't most states have a law like CA's CPC 532-Theft by false pretenses? I would think that this friend would be on the hook for that.

        Here is how CPC 532 reads.

        The specific intent to defraud by making a promise w/o intent to perform it, or making a representation of an existing or past fact known to be false, & victim relies on promise & transfers money or property.
        "Respect for religion must be reestablished. Public debt should be reduced. The arrogance of public officials must be curtailed. Assistance to foreign lands must be stopped or we shall bankrupt ourselves. The people should be forced to work and not depend on government for subsistence." - Cicero, 60 B.C.

          The following is a QUOTE from my friend SWIM. I will tell the story as if I was SWIM.

          * I start telling story *
          (This was all done via the Internet)
          I decided I wanted some free stuff so I pretended I was a 13 year old girl and started to look for Pedos to give me free stuff. One pedo started hitting on me so I started flirting with him. After a few weeks he sent a pic of his genitals. He then asked If I could send pics of me naked. I told him that I didn't have a camera. He then said

          Pedo - If I send you a camera will you take pics

          Me - yep

          Pedo - o.k. whats your address.

          Me - I don't think my mom will like someone sending me gifts

          Pedo - you're right... she wont understand our love

          Pedo - what if i sent the stuff to a vacant house then you picked it up

          Me - theirs a vacant house next door to me. I'll get the address

          I then gave him the address of a vacant house near me. A couple of days later I got the camera.

          * Story ends*

          My friend SWIM is also working on getting a laptop from the guy

          How legal is this?

          I think that SWIM is helping to teach pedophiles a lesson.

          What do you think?
          Oh please....First it's burglary, now it's theft under false pretenses. Please stop asking cops how to avoid prosecution here....

            Tell your friend, SWIY, we already know who he is and where he lives. We are watching him.

              Fu*k pedophiles!! You think some sick bastard who sends a picture of his balls to someone he thinks is a little child is going to call the police. Yeah....911 some guy who I thought was a 10 year old girl and wanted to have sex with tricked me and got me to send them a camera. Your not hurting the ***^holes even though we all want to. Screw them!

              Thats my honest and not so professional opinion.

              Cops hate those fu*kers too. But Im not working now and I dont have to be fair in my personal opinion. Im not telling you what to do and what your doing isnt right. It does sound like you have a ability to help LEO's and catch the sh1tbags, putting them behind bars is better than getting a free camera. Your only benifiting yourself, you should think of trying to help society.

                        Let me throw the question right back at you. Is it okay to steal, or specifically, to obtain something of value by false pretense?

                        Does it make it okay if you're stealing from somebody you deem to be a pedophile?

                        I have a really hard time taking this guy seriously. His humor is somewhat reminiscent of Hogboy.

                          saranac is right, "what if" a real kid is being targeted. ya, you get free stuff, but the info would make a good case on a piece of crap. what your doing is possibly a crime, but i know a lot of PA's that wouldnt touch the case, however we would talk a great deal about it at lunch. give it to the good guys and if they bag you in the for something use it a a learning tool, tool.

                          Good talk, see ya out there

                            Your pattern of questions or threads you have started clearly show that it is you that is "SWIM".When one is attempting to avoid a situation or seek advice for a situation/event/incident in which they have been involved in. That being said, it is very easy to tell that your questions and topics are referring to you, yourself, not some "unknown". Good luck getting some real-time answers.

                              I am a cop who works internet pedophile IM crimes. I have had pedos send me engagement rings, panties, dildos, etc. So basically I could be on the hook for receiving the stuff???? I guess you have to look at the intent of SWIM. Is it to defraud the Pedophile for personal gain, or is it investigative to turn over to the police for a case against the dirt bag. I personally wouldn't prosecute "SWIM" if they turned over the evidence which lead to an arrest/prosecution.

                              just my opinion.
