I cant see anything illegal on SWIM's part. I would strongly suggest that SWIM takes the information to the local police so they can set up a meet. It is likely that this guy is also targeting another child (real Child!!). If she does not do this, she is no better than the child molester.

Don't most states have a law like CA's CPC 532-Theft by false pretenses? I would think that this friend would be on the hook for that.

Here is how CPC 532 reads.

The specific intent to defraud by making a promise w/o intent to perform it, or making a representation of an existing or past fact known to be false, & victim relies on promise & transfers money or property.

I decided I wanted some free stuff so I pretended I was a 13 year old girl and started to look for Pedos to give me free stuff. One pedo started hitting on me so I started flirting with him. After a few weeks he sent a pic of his genitals. He then asked If I could send pics of me naked. I told him that I didn't have a camera. He then said

Pedo - If I send you a camera will you take pics

Me - yep

Pedo - o.k. whats your address.

Me - I don't think my mom will like someone sending me gifts

Pedo - you're right... she wont understand our love

Pedo - what if i sent the stuff to a vacant house then you picked it up

Me - theirs a vacant house next door to me. I'll get the address

I then gave him the address of a vacant house near me. A couple of days later I got the camera.

Cops hate those fu*kers too. But Im not working now and I dont have to be fair in my personal opinion. Im not telling you what to do and what your doing isnt right. It does sound like you have a ability to help LEO's and catch the sh1tbags, putting them behind bars is better than getting a free camera. Your only benifiting yourself, you should think of trying to help society.

saranac is right, "what if" a real kid is being targeted. ya, you get free stuff, but the info would make a good case on a piece of crap. what your doing is possibly a crime, but i know a lot of PA's that wouldnt touch the case, however we would talk a great deal about it at lunch. give it to the good guys and if they bag you in the for something use it a a learning tool, tool.

I am a cop who works internet pedophile IM crimes. I have had pedos send me engagement rings, panties, dildos, etc. So basically I could be on the hook for receiving the stuff???? I guess you have to look at the intent of SWIM. Is it to defraud the Pedophile for personal gain, or is it investigative to turn over to the police for a case against the dirt bag. I personally wouldn't prosecute "SWIM" if they turned over the evidence which lead to an arrest/prosecution.
