  • How do you keep fit?

I was just wondering how police officers stay fit.Working 3 days on and 4 off can't be easy on the body. Also it doesn't give you a whole lot of time to get to the gym? How do you guys do it?

Do explain how having 4 days off a week "doesn't leave much time to get to the gym."

Way to answer the guy's question

You just have to stay motivated if you want to stay in shape. I enjoy running so I look forward to going out and running and I have a full gym in my garage so I just need to get off the comp to stay in shape...

LOL, ROFL. I thought the same ting BUT i didnt say it. I would LOVE to have 4 days or even 3 days off in a row.
I was gonna answer with :you mean were supposed to still work out"
But I didnt. Its not the job that keeps me fat, its the wife and kids and some overtime and uh, courttime, and watching the kids when the wife is either in school or working or working or in school. Oh yeah she is even only part time right now. I do play the drums though and that keeps my nothing in shape.
          I got nothing for now

              I exercise.....

But really...3-4 days off in a row? Man I'd be in better shape than I am now if I had that much time off. I get 2 days off...if I don't have to go to court on one of those days. I work the 1430-2230 (or better yet 2300-0400 depending on paperwork) shift and I get to try to go to the gym in the morning before work. I wake up around 1000-1100 and hopefully make it to the gym by 1200 for an hour or so. That's ideal if I don't have to stay at work until 0300 or I don't have court during the day.

We work 4 days on, 4 days off. First 2 days are 6am-6pm, second are 6pm-6am.

We work out in our gyms (we have 2 of our own inside the building) during our breaks (we get 1.5 hrs scheduled - if it ever actually happens), and go for runs (our city is mostly on a hill so you get a good run going only a few blocks up).

We can use the gym on our days off, so I don't think anyone pays for a gym membership. We also have our own personal fitness trainer, for free, who helps us decide our best plan.

                    My way

2 days a week with at least one hour running.

3 days a week if possible working out with weights

We don't have time to work out you have to make time.
