the "midnight" shift starts or finishes at midnight?

It usually starts in the time fram near midnight. Here our "mids" starts at 2300(-0900). Even though you start on the day all hours count for the follwoing day. So is your shift for Wed will start Tue at 2300.

Our mids are 2300-0700. ALso the following day thing. SO if the schedule says your off Sat and Sun you dont come in on Friday {into Sat} and Saturday{into Sunday} still getting used to especially if you a need a day off next rotation...I just tell the Sgt I need blah blah off and he {hopefully{ takes care of it....
I guess to add to this, Midnights are also 1st shift, mornings are second and the T.V. show Third Watch was for the 3-11 or 4-12 shift...I got nothing for nowComment

Our mids are 6pm to 6am. Gotta love the 12 hour shifts. Everyother weekend off and monthly rotation so you aren't stuck on a shift forever.Comment
