What are some procedures that you officers use for handcuffing subjects in
    the following positions?:standing, kneeling, prone.
"You are under arrest. Turn around and put your
    hands behind your head."

Might not get too many responses here, as you are NOT a cop and NOT even a studdent of Crim. Justice. We cuff people securely and quickly.
    I got nothing for now

In all of those positions we follow up with " these aren't too tight, are they" and "watch yer head, sir."

Why do you call yourself handcuff man anyway?

I have heard that some officers have a prone suspect cross his/her ankles and bring them up to
his/her butt and then the officer kneels on the bent legs while cuffing the suspect. Is there
anyone here from any department where that method is taught?

You are not going to get any valid responses to your questions. At least not from a valid LEO.

Why would we let you on to our secrets of the trade?

I could be arresting you tomorrow night and don't want to give you any edge when the fight is on.

If the cops here won't help you out, the next place I suggest checking is an S&M forum.

Next time you see a police officer, ask him to show you what a Georgia Six Pack is. You'll like it.

I didn't realize this was such a secret! I mean, you can watch COPS! and see how any variety of police do it. Obviously not every agency does it the same way.

In fact, watching some officer cuff on the show makes me worried about how they ever passed their handcuff training.

But then, I also wonder about what tehy thought they heard when a suspect is talking to them, or how they think they are going to get a suspects arm to go behind his back yanking on it THAT! way. Some joints just don't bend in certain directions.
Though their numbers are many, as the grass upon the field, we will count them at the end of the day.

You need guaze pads and some 30 weight motor oil. You know.....it's all ball berings these days Actually, I've heard that the Tazer is good in handcuffing techniques.
