Is this normal?

As some of you know, I'm in backgrounds for OC Sheriffs (Ca)

Anyways, I've passed everything, but there is a gaggle on my reference letters and now my finance reports

Aparently, my credit companies haven't returned info to my BI. The BI has my credit score, it's all in order, but I guess they need letters stating something?

Anyways, did anyone else have a similar problem? And does anyone know about how long it takes for them to process reference letters?

Ref. letters are usually reviewed,maybe a call made by the BI back to who wrote it and that's it. Your credit scores are of a concern as they don't want someone that can't be held accounable (naturally) or may be tempted to do something to "enhance" his income because of financial problems. This all sounds normal yet admittedly streeful to me. Hang in there

Is this normal?

Probably one of the hardest aspects of the hiring process--waiting. Even in this age of instant information, it's surprising how much old fashioned paper shuffling still goes on. An applicant's credit is pretty important to a department, as it is often a guauge of how the applicant handles responsibility. If your credit score is okay, it's just a matter of time. Know it's difficult, but hang in there.

Making the whole thing worse is that it's apparently not my credit companies, but my spouses LOL, I guess mine returned whatever they needed to, but hers haven't yet. Ugh.

But, it's definately encouraging that I've been cleared on all of the big stuff. NEVER EVER thought I would get this far (this is the only agency I have ever applied with), so waiting isn't the worst thing in the world.

I just wish I could stop by down there and help them make the calls/mail letters/ type stuff out or whatever it is that's taking so long
