As part of my job (and my passion) I provide training for law enforcement and for our nation-wide staff to bring to local law enforcement and emergency responders. My understanding is that most in law enforcement (and the rest of the world) would rather not sit through any kind of training let alone the kind I do.
I train/teach about Alzheimer's disease and what to do with driving/wandering/gun posession/home invasion reports and other safety issues as they relate to people with dementia.
So - my question - when you are sitting through a training of this nature - what do you most want to hear? And for those departments who do not necessarily see the value of the education we provide (it is free) - how can we promote ourselves better, in your experience?
