  • Polygraph Testing

I looked at a few sites that try to explain how Polygraphs work. It talks about relivent/control/irelivent questions. It's practicly a lie detector test. I'm not so sure that using "counter-measures" is the smart thing.

I talked with a recruiter for my county police, and she said that many do fail the polygraph test. But to just be openly honest.

    Whats your advice?

    Thanks

The polygraph is by no means a

Polygraph tests are not 100%, with that being said i remember when i took my poly, they asked me if i had ever sold drugs, and i said "no i have never sold drugs but i have a cousin who did." So after the test he told me i failed the test because teh test said i HAD sold drugs in the past. I think it was just his strategy for me to say i did, since i did have family members selling it.

I would suggest that you be completly honest about you prior drug use. Most departments will not DQ you specificaly because of it.

If you are that worried about the poly, then move to Michigan, a poly is not used in the hiring process

Did you read my response? I said to tell them about everything. What part of what I wrote made you think you should lie about smoking pot?

8 times is more than "trying".
