    Hello everyone!

I just received an email saying I met all qualifications and requirements to take the written exam in Fremont CA. Do you guys have any advice on what to study and and tips on taking the exam? I am in the military currently and we take many tests, but i have heard many horror stories of Police exams. Anything will help! Thank you!

Also any advice on attire to wear to the exam!

There are a number of police civil service study guides available for purchase. Amazon has them as does Borders or Barnes and Noble.

The public libraries also normally have copies for checkout.

Read some of the 10002 other threads concerning what to wear during the hiring process

HINT: Unless you are instructed differently by the agency------------------ALWAYS wear a suit and tie

Since some people need to be told by notes in crayon .......Don't PM me with without prior permission. If you can't discuss the situation in the open forum ----it must not be that important

      Hi,

NTN Test: No way to study for it. You either already know it or you don't.

      Few tips:
      - Wear a watch. You are timed yet you don't know how much time you have left.
      - If you have the $20, take the practice test. It can be helpful.

        Suit and Tie.
The sheep generally do not like the sheepdog. He looks a lot like the wolf. He has fangs and the capacity for violence. The difference, though, is that the sheepdog must not, cannot and will not ever harm the sheep. Any sheepdog who intentionally harms the lowliest little lamb will be punished and removed.

        I Am the Sheepdog.

California is very much a Civil Service venue. Most Civil Service written exams measure an applicant's ability to reason and think clearly,(situational questions). English, Math, reading comprehension skills are also tested.

To be a competitive candidate, as in reachable, you MUST score in the mid to high nineties. As has been noted to you, there are ample study guides to assist you in taking practice exams, and in helping you to attain that all important high score.

Additionally, we have done numerous discussions on this subject as a forum. Check out the Search Function. There is a world of great information there. Best of luck to you.
