I'm a 31 yr old man in great shape.
I was born with a mild heart murmur that hasn't gotten any worse.
Medical test I have gotten done for myself last month are.
-- EKG, HEART RATE/BEAT NORMAL, 62 BEATS PER MIN.
-- ECHOCARDIOGRAM, SHOWED MILD HEART MURMUR
-- STRESS TEST, RESULTS ARE GREAT...
I'm due in Harrisburg June 20 for my final step/evaluation.
I'll bring all test results and hope for the best.

It is going to depend on what the requirements are for that department.

When heart conditions are in play..................many times the specific qualifications/disqualifications are set out in the pension plan.

Many states have what is called the "heart bill" which pretty much mandates full retirement (and a presumption that the cause of the heart disease is your LEO career) when ever a heart related is detected ----some departments are wary of hiring anyone with pre-existing heart problems no matter how minor.

The department will not put a lot of weight in what your physician says because some doctors will put anything in writing if you cross their palm with enough cash. The final arbiter will be the department's doctor interpreting his tests against the department's standards.

Take a look at http://lib.post.ca.gov/Publications/Cardio.pdf While these are California's cardio standards, the underlying principles behind them are fairly uniform for law enforcement in most of the United States. I suspect these are close to the standards you will have to meet in your state.
