  • Delaware PD lateral transfers

I am a police officer in NJ. I was wondering if anyone can offer some insight on whether there are PD's in Delaware that accept lateral tranfers. Thanks.

On paper, no. They claim you need to go to their academy.
I'm not sure about from NJ to DE, but recently they've been accepting PA laterals. I know this because I went to the academy with several guys that were hired in DE and didn't have to repeat academy. Everybody's budgets are tight and it was a way for them to save some money.
I remember researching it a year or two ago, there is information on their certification website about it.

Did you not see my answer to your question in the LE jobs section?

You CAN NOT LATERAL to Delaware without being hired first and COPT (DE version of PTC) then giving you a waiver of training.
