I was actually curious to see what most cops are carring these days as far as their primary weapon, and or secondary.

I was thinking of getting into a local LEO position out here in Las Vegas, NV.

I was thinking of choosing a Glock-17 9MM for my toy / defense and duty weapon later on. Is that a good choice?

It isn't a huge secret.

Smith & Wesson M&P 40. Which, by the way, I hate. Wish I could carry the Glock 21 again but it won't happen.
I have a couple guns I can carry as a secondary/off duty. The sig P232 .380 is a great little gun or the S&W airweight 642 38 special. Also a great gun but a bear to shoot.

Glock 17....eh its ok

Off duty I carry a Ruger P95 .9mm. Its a little fat, but overall a great gun that I have no complaints about.

How is it OPSEC when he can walk up to you on the street and look at it? Or when he can get on your agency webpage, zoom in on a picture and look at it?

Seriously, not every question about equipment or tactics is that secret.

Glock 22 = primary. Glock 27 = off duty

This is my second Glock 22, carried the first one for 18 years without a single issue.
