    First problem I see is the academic part. You don't take school serious and you expect to be a LEO? Our training never ends so you would have to get your grades up and take education serious. Color blind...I think that would pretty much DQ you at any agency, military as well, but I could be wrong on that. 20/2400 vision is no problem as long as it could be corrected with surgery or prescription lenses.

    Partner, you would have to make some major changes in your life, mentally and medically to become a LEO.

      I understand the academic problem, i will start giving more effort also colorblindness is no problem in military (for most classes) Also as long as your capable of passing the fansworth d-15 test your fine LEO wise, and which I'm able to do.

        Why do you call yourself "streetcop" if your 16 yrs old??? A bit misleading....it should read "16 yr old" or something......

        You are still pretty young, so live life a little and get it out of the way, then if you feel the same in a couple years, get educated and lead a straight life and you shouldnt have any problems

                I also have horrible vision currently 20/2400
                This means that you need to be 20 feet from a letter that a human with perfect vision can see from 2400 feet away.

                They do not make glasses that thick, you should not be able to see to type.

                Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find it is vanity;
                but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men,
                for they act their dreams with open eyes to make it possible.....”

                  I know numerous officers that are slightly colorblind. As one poster said, as long as you can distinguish major colors you can probably take an alternate test. I know in our agency there is a list, one of which is the Farnsworth, so you could be fine. I have had Lasik done. Awesome procedure. Look into it now and see if they can correct your vision level (if you haven't already). As someone else said, get serious about school now. It is a lot harder to get grades up later than it is to put forth a little more effort now. Good luck!

                    Yes i do have my beginners, the road test is the second part after you wait 9 months, which is in 2 months i have it. I can see all traffic lights, i see red 100% there is only one shade of green i see brown. And the reasons my grades are so low i have been "skipping" a lot which i plan on stop doing.

                    Also i was at my optometrist appointment 2 weeks ago and they said my vision was 2400/20, i even asked again because i thought i heard wrong. And i haven't worn glasses since i was around 11. I wear contacts every second I'm awake.

                    I will repeat this again i can see all traffic lights 150%! There is only one color of green i see brown.

                    Sorry for the late response.

                      Also, do you have your driver's license yet? In order to get one, you'll need to pass a vision test, which includes red/green color testing. If you can't distinguish between red and green lights, then how can you drive safely?

                      I understand 65% average is bad, i wouldn't say it's that bad considering 50% is considered a pass. Also i would say 50% of students have under 65% average.

                          For every academy I've ever heard of, you need an 80% average just to pass. We're not average people, so quit making excuses and fix the problem.
