hello everyone! I am 20 years old and want to be a LEO. The question I have is as follows: I know most places you have to be 21 to be a police officer, I will be turning 21 this coming April and I was wondering if at the agencies that require you to be 21 you can still apply at 20 as long as you would be 21 by the time you are offered a position? probably a dumb question but figured I would ask anyway Thanks!

Many accept applications at age 20. Most agencies require their applicants to be 21 at the time of appointment. I would suggest that you contact the agency you have interest in and ascertain if that is their policy.
Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence!

Definitely depends on the area. I attended the state academy with a couple that were only 20 yrs old. Technically you only have to be 18 in TN to be a LEO by state law, but I've never seen anyone that young. It's more of a maturity and responsibility issue than just being 21.
