  • Investigations/Interview Training

    Hi everyone,

I am a Fraud Investigator for the Federal Government in Canada. My investigations are typically identity theft and monetary fraud related.

As I am not a Police Officer I am posting here vs. another forum.

What I am hoping to find is any suggestions for good books or good online training sites relating to interview techniques, body language, hostile interviews and so forth.

Although my employer will pay for books/training they do not offer anything more then the very basic standard training in regards to these subjects. I have been doing the job over a year and currently am at a point where some specialized "training" would be beneficial.

I have searched Amazon, Chapters etc and find a lot of results - but I really think this target audience is the best to ask as the concepts are similiar.

I appreciate any and all responses, PM is completely fine and welcomed.

    Thanks again,
    Sean

If you can go to an actual training class, John E. Reid and Associates puts on one of the better interview/interrogation courses, used by the US gov't and law enforcement throughout the country. If they won't send you to a class, they also offer books and other resources on their website: http://www.reid.com/

Sean, in addition to the excellent previous suggestion, I'd suggest you do a Google search.Yesterday, I used Google in some research totally unrelated to yours. I didn't really expect the results I recieved. Very plentiful, all very good. Hopefully, that will be your experience too.
