...after seeing who are out there trying/ wanting to be a LEO.
Well, I have been going to school and studying criminal justice for about a month now. In my classes 90% of students wants to be a cop and thats why they are taking the classes. I recently started to kind of be friends with people, chat, etc. Well, I just can't believe the quality of people, a few of them dressing, walking and talking like they are a big time thugs.
I was just out on a break with like 7-8 of guys and gals and they were talking about drugs, how they do them, how he loves getting high every friday nights, they other one shows a pic out of his cell phone how it took him and his buddys' 5 hours to roll that gigantic pot, how the other guy likes driving when he is high and doing 140+mph and i chimed in and said, hey guys, in case you didnt know most agencies requires 2,5-3 years before use of pot and any other illegal drugs such as cocaine, heroin, etc. is an automatic dq and one of them said " yeah but they dont know that" (laughter by everyone) and a girl asked how they find out and i said polygraph, background investigation and another dude jumps in and explains how easy to beat polygraph and all. And this girl asked me if every dept does polygraph and i said 99% of them and she said that she will test for that 1% then. At that point I am upset but didn't say anything. I said that honesty is the key guys, and a couple of them laughed at me and I said once again, if you have done all that stuff you are saying you have done, i wish you best luck and we walked back in the class.
P.S. one of these gentleman told us how he ran from the cops and blew multiple stops signs, got busted and had his DL suspended and once he got caught doing 135 on 65 and received a ticket for that.
I looked at myself with shock said "wow, I must be the cleanest guy here"
I was wondering if a lot of applicants are like this? If so, I am happy because I should have a good shot on being an LEO.
