  • To Flashy For the Academy?

I recently bought shoes for the academy because my Nikes were giving me blisters. I found some Saucony's Pro/Grid Ride 2 at a local Dicks and they feel great. My only concern is getting a hard time in the academy. I didn't really have much of a color selection one because I am a female and all the shoes are bright and two they either had red or blue. So I chose blue. I still have the receipt so I can take them back if I need to. So are they to flashy?

    P. S. If you click on the pic. it will enlarge.

What you probably need to do, is check the Academy's standards for uniform/attire, including footware.

Yes, that sounds about right. I haven't got anything on the Academy standards yet. I just really desperately needed a new pair, and quick. I hear the department I am applying with supplies us with a new pair first week of Academy but I was unaware until after I bought these. If anything they can be a backup pair. Thanks.

Most don't care about running shoes, because they know how important a good pair of running shoes is. They look dorky, but so did the yellow Asics I used in the academy.

My shoes were bright orange....everyone got a good look at the soles as I passed them and I didn't get any crap for it....

Well that is good to know! I know they do look a little dorky, I am not to much of a fan of the net. There really wasn't a selection. I was looking at both the Asics and the Sauconys and asked which was better. I am sure it depends on the person and their preference. He stated the Saucony shoes were better quality. So I went for it. I ran today in them they feel pretty good, the net is really nice for your feet to air out. Only thing is I still have blisters from the old shoes, had to take it easy today.

Our department provided us with a pair of shoes that everyone was to wear while we were doing PT. However, when we were going on a run we wore whatever shoes we wanted to. The only restriction was that they wanted them to be predominantly white in color.
