I've been given the task of putting together a "women's safety course" at our department to be given in the summer. It's been several years since I've been involved in one of these and I'd like to know if any of you trainers have any course outlines/topics/ideas that I can get put together for a plan of our own.
What we're looking to do is this: Make it possibly 4 weeks long, an hour or two each night (one night per week), cover work/home safety, being a witness, parking lot/travel safety, domestic violence and sexual assault. We will also be taking these classes to the range to teach them how to shoot, for those interested, and will be helping them with the weapons permit. Finally, we'll want a very small amount of defensive tactics thrown in here as well.
Any information you guys may have floating around would be greatly appreciated. I need to get a brief presentation put together for the chief and mayor in the next couple of weeks.
