  • mobile basic swat courses?

My department is slowly making steps towards forming swat or ert teams on each shift. One of the reasons why they wont go for it yet is that manpower is tight and they cant spare people to leave the area in case of an emergency {irony huh}. Does anyone know of a reputable basic swat course that will come to your agency to train you? We have our own range and all the tactical equipment already.

    Thank you for your time

I'm not a SWAT cop, I just attended a one week course.

I attended the FBI's basic course. They traveled to our facilities. The instructors were top notch, and we all gained alot from it. I'm not up on the prices though.

Is there a point of contact for this training? My chief is retired FBI so it might work. I looked at the BJA's {Bureau of Justice Assistance}website but it didnt have any course offerings for FBI Basic Swat. I also found a site which was promoting the next FBI Basic course to be offered at a post academy in Cali.

      Thanks for your reply

I may have one of the instructor's business cards laying around.
I'll also ask one of our SWAT gurus this weekend and PM you.

If there is a full time SWAT guy who comes across this, feel free to chime in. Again, I'm just a patrol guy who was lucky enough to go to the course. I'm sure there are loads of other good schools.

              Try www.gtitraining.org
They have approved DHS SWAT training and a mobile training program.
