  • Upcoming Training in Indianapolis

    Classes and Dates:

Basic Network Intrusion Investigation (BNII) 02/27/17 - 03/02/17

Secure Techniques for Onsite Previewing (STOP) 03/20/17 - 03/21/17

Basic Data Recovery and Acquisition (BDRA) 03/22/17 - 03/24/17

Foundations of Intelligence Analysis Training (FIAT) 04/03/17 - 04/07/17

Intermediate Data Recovery and Analysis (IDRA) 05/08/17 - 05/11/17

    Targeting Investment Fraud (TIF) 08/15/17

If you cant make it to the above classes and your agency has the desire to host a NW3C class, similar to what ISP is doing... contact me anytime and we can see about bringing classes your way in the near future.

Also, NW3C offers free technical assistance for cases involving computers and mobile devices, whether you're triaging (previewing), performing a forensic exam, or cell phone data dump... If you're in Indiana, I'm the local NW3C contact. When I'm not on the road instructing our computer crime courses, I have a satellite office at the ISP CC & ICAC, where I'm assisting with a wide range of issues that come up throughout an investigation for law enforcement nation wide.

    One recent example:

I was asked to provide technical assistance and training for a group of investigators at a local central Indiana PD. We covered the need to know of NW3C's Cell Phone Mapping and Analysis (CPMA) class. Basically it was a 3.5hr crash course on the call detail, cell site, and PCMD reports received from various cell phone service providers. The investigators left with the training and tools required to efficiently process and analyze the large amounts of data from the records - Perphound is a free tool from NW3C that has many functions, but most importantly will plot the desired towers from the call detail record (CDR) to Google Earth.

Hope to see you at one of our training events and as always, call, text, or email anytime you need assistance with a case involving electronic evidence.
