The course was designed to place into perspective the current global threat from Terrorism. It is an overview of the strategy, tactics and evolution of the terror threat from French Revolution and early Anarchist’s groups to the IRA and the Bader Meinhof Gang [RAF] to al-Qaeda and the Taliban. It also covers the myths, and lessons learned from the study of terror group operations and counterintelligence tradecraft used to prevent, disrupt and neutralize terror attacks.

The course utilizes subject matter experts, PowerPoint presentations, videos, practical problems, readings and
Internet research to assist attendees in developing a better understanding of the cases, operations, patterns,
weapons, techniques of violence use and the connections between terrorists groups over the last two millennia.

This training will be of interest to intelligence, security and law-enforcement personnel [operators and analysts] responsible for protecting/safe-guarding high-value potential targets, ERT & SWAT personnel and, in
particular, to intelligence & security professionals & units deploying to/operating in higher-risk environments.
