    Methamphetamine Investigative Workshop
    October 19–21, 2011 Grand Prairie, Texas

    About the Training:The manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine is one of the fastestgrowing drug problems facing the nation.

    The rapid spread of methamphetamine from the western United States to other parts of the
    country is an increasing challenge for law enforcement personnel nationwide. The covert
    nature of drug laboratories and the hazardous chemicals involved in methamphetamine drug
    operations pose unique challenges for law enforcement managers and investigators. Investigations must be properly managed to ensure effective and safe outcomes. In response to this challenge, the workshop, designed for state and local law enforcement officers, addresses the operational aspects of
    managing methamphetamine investigations, as well as problem areas specific to these types of investigations.

    Training Objectives:
    -The Methamphetamine Problem
    -Manufacturing Methamphetamine/Clandestine Laboratories
    -First Response and Lab Scene Procedures
    -Investigation Techniques
    -Raid Issues
    -Drug-Endangered Children

    No Tuition or Registration Fee: Enrollment is limited to sworn law enforcement personnel. There is no registration fee. Travel/per diem expenses are the responsibility of the attendee.

    Training is coordinated by the Institute for Intergovernmental Research® (IIR) and made possible through BJA funding to IIR.
