Do any other States have to fill out Race Based Traffic sheets. In Maryland Every traffic stop we make we have to fill out a form on why we stopped the car what race, sex, and age the driver was if they got a ticket or warning where they from and alot of other stupid stuff I just trying to see if any other states have to do this.

You're not alone, "citizen contact logs" are starting to become standard fare.

In North Carolina we have to fill out a SBI ( state bureau of investigations) traffic stop form for every traffic stop...it says where we stopped them, why we stopped them, what their ethinicity and sex were, and the action we took, i guess that way if for some reason the democratic eloquence of society decides that if we happen to work in a area that is overpopulated with one race, when one person complains they can say we are being racially bias cause all of our stop forms say that same race.....and just in case you didnt notice please note the high level of sarcasm on the last four lines of this. Those that do evil to innocent people,The Robbers, Murderers, Rapists, Pimps, Prostitutes, The Simps, Sadists, Sinners, You will come to know me well, I am The Punisher.

What irks me in Maryland is that the law for the data sheets sunset on midnite 12/31/04. The study was to end then but all departments I know of are still filling them out. Seems everyone is too chicken s**t to stop doing them.In God we trust, all others are run MILES and NCIC.

the thing that makes me mad is my department does them for everything. The law said they did not have to be done for radar stops, accidents, ect.
We do them for everything Accidents Radar, bike stops. (Yes They make us stop bikes for traffic violations)Quick throw me your cuffs I already used all of mine

They had us do them in Memphis for a while
But they had one problem... we didn't stop anyone because it was a pain in the ***, so they took it away
I guess they weren't so worried about us racist cops when they started losing money from the lack of tickets.

I know times have changed but damn, neither I nor any of my fellow Officers cared one way or another what race the guy was except in case we needed a discription. For the most part the stop was inititated before the race or gender was even known. That would be a hell of a way to get me back to patrol and not making any traffic stops.

I've worked nights most of my career. I usually didnt know the race of the violator till I made contact. My department was asked to do stats on race & stops. Our chief had the figs to say no thanks. Common sense tells us that if you work a beat that has a certain demographic, that is who the majority of your stops will be.

July 1st we started filling them out. What a duplicitous piece of **** this is. Our new citation books already have race, sex, and inventory boxes. Now this book is supposed to only take ONE minute to fill out. Our union decided that we will not be issuing written warnings anymore, because we have to fill these out anyway why do extra paperwork.
When they tally all of the citations and do the stats, they're going to twist the numbers anyway they see fit.
Why were whites issued more warnings than Hispanics? How come you inventoried vehicles of Black drivers more than Whites? Your arrests are mostly 20 to 30 y/o Hispanic males, why is that? Blah blah blah.

The biggest Problem is My city is mostly black so then are stats are mostly against black offenders. Its not that I am rasist its just where I work there are not alot of other races. BUt I find myself sometimes going out looking for a white person to stop just to try to even my numbers out which sucks to have to do that. Or sometimes Ill let things slide that I would normaly stop someone for because the driver was black and the last 5 stops I made were all black drivers.Quick throw me your cuffs I already used all of mine
Come here Slick Im not done with you yet
