Nope. You’re about as dumb as they are.

    Who’s the Crony, me?

Where is this boat you reference?

No need- those are two different boats, and his is a one-person dinghy with a hole in it.

This is very common in the area I work as well. On certain Muslim holidays they will sacrifice a goat and butcher it. I don't see it any different from butchering any other animal other than the religious aspect to it. If you ever seen a slaughter house and the stress it puts on animals, you would find this a lot more humane anyways.

    Some context about Hamtramck here...

It's a postage stamp city (one square mile) inside the boundaries of a much larger city (Detroit). For decades, it was a blue collar enclave of Polish autoworkers, but over the years their decendants have moved to the pastoral suburbs of Oakland and Macomb counties and Yemenese and Bangladeshi immigrants have settled in, starting businesses and running for local office. To visit Hamtramck is a bit surreal- while it's surrounded by abandoned Detroit neighborhoods where wild haired crack addicts scream at passing clouds and packs of feral dogs roam in serach of people to attack, in Hamtown, every storefront is open for business and tidy homes are nestled close along the narrow streets. Traditional Polish restruarants serving peirogis and schnitzel sit next to Yemenese places with spicy goat stews and warm naan from the fire oven. It's a foodie heaven, and if you ever watch the show Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel, you'll see why Andrew Zimmern loves visiting the place.

It's an urban oasis of sorts, at least compared to the surrounding apocalyptic wastelands. Not that I would want to live there... on my last visit I stepped over bloody needles in a park as kids slid down a slide and as I ate a delicious Yemenese version of goat vindaloo, I watched a man walk down the sidewalk quickly looking into every parked car for valuables to steal (he was unsuccessful). But I do give credit to the residents and businesses for holding things together while the adjacent neighborhoods descended into hellish, empty ruins over the last forty years....

So what happens in Hamtramck is unique to Hamtramck, which is a unique place compared to the rest of Detroit, the upper Midwest, and the entire U.S. If they want to kill goats in some old school traditional way, I'm cool with it- all I ask for is some garlic naan to go with a bowl of that steamy red stew with hearty chunks of goat meat and potatoes...

It's very common for Hispanics to butcher a goat for a religious holiday where I live (it's a Catholic feast day, can't remember which one).

Sharia Law is a big leap from this.
What? Sanity and rational thought on o.com. is this allowed?

Seems like simple religious freedom to me. Something I thought was important in the USA.
